Influence: Less Elusive Than You Might Think

Leadership is at its core about getting things done through others – i.e. through influence. As such, influence is the most essential and most-wanted leadership capability.
And influence is actually less elusive then many people think it is. Influence is the result of a comprehensive set of strategies that effective leaders apply to produce the change in selected key behaviors of their organizations to drive improved performance.
So, in this talk, I would outline a 4-step process to structure how a leader can gain influence over the people in her team or organization by designing and executing a series of proactive strategies at the personal, social and structural level.
