The FDIC will provide insightful data regarding financial behaviors of underserved consumers, including their use of banking channels and mobile banking. The FDIC will also discuss the findings of a report that explores the economic inclusion potential of mobile financial services and identifies some of the opportunities and obstacles that banks face when using mobile technologies to reach underserved consumers.  Panelists will provide insights into how their institutions are using this technology to expand services for unbanked and underbanked consumer and to deepen their relationships with these consumers, and point out specific strategies to more effectively use mobile financial services in these markets.
