Emerging payments startups are influencing how banks and traditional payment companies are thinking about their futures.  One such startup, Groupon, known primarily for its daily deals, has entered the payments fray, offering a mobile card reading device for merchants as well as marketing services and data analytics. Sean Harper, a former VC and the founder of FeeFighters, sold this business to Groupon and is now the basis for Groupon Payments.  He'll share his thoughts on the changing payments ecosystems, including:

  • Mobile card readers: What differentiates Groupon’s product from others; why there are so many entrants in the market; how do you see this evolving in the coming years
  • Data analytics: What information consumers and businesses can obtain from a mobile payments platform; how and why this is significant
