Executive Vice President Group Head, North Region Middle Market Banking, Wells Fargo & Company
Monica Cole is an executive vice president and region head of Wells Fargo’s Middle Market Banking North region. Based in Chicago, Monica manages offices in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Before her current role, Monica was a division manager in the Southern Division, responsible for commercial banking in St. Louis, Kansas City, Little Rock, Dallas-Ft. Worth, and Oklahoma.
Monica started her career in 1994 with Norwest Corporation, a Wells Fargo predecessor, in the corporate bank training program. She has since held roles in structured finance, risk management, and asset-based lending. In 2005, Monica was promoted to a management role with Wachovia Capital Finance, and in 2009 she led the integration of Wells Fargo and Wachovia’s southeastern Business Credit teams. In 2010, Cole took responsibility for the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada for Wells Fargo Capital Finance’s business credit division. In July 2004, she was promoted to division manager for the Southern Division of the Commercial Banking group, and relocated from Atlanta to St. Louis.
Monica serves on the Board of Boys and Girls Club of Greater St. Louis. Monica earned her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Christian Brothers University, and her M.B.A. from Clark Atlanta University. Monica is a founding chapter member and was the first president of the Rho Gamma chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
