Policy Counsel, Americans for Financial Reform
Brian Simmonds Marshall is policy counsel to Americans for Financial Reform (AFR). His policy focus is on housing and consumer finance issues, including defending the structure and authorities of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau before the courts and Congress. Before joining AFR, he was counsel in the Legal Division of the FDIC where he directed investigations and litigation arising out of bank failures, including LIBOR manipulation and residential mortgage-backed securities cases. Prior to his work at the FDIC, Brian was a litigator and antitrust lawyer in private practice. Brian graduated from Georgetown Law and Whitman College.
